Life is busy. We all know that. Sometimes it feels like there’s just not enough time in the day to get everything done. And when you’re already feeling overwhelmed, the last thing you want to do is tidy up your house. But believe it or not, making a little bit of time for cleaning can actually help reduce stress and make your life a little bit easier. In this article, we will discuss six quick fixes for when you can’t find the time to tidy up!
Cleaning Services
If you’re really short on time, one option is to hire a cleaning service. This can be a great way to take care of your home without having to worry about it yourself. There are plenty of reputable companies out there that can provide you with the services you need.
When it comes to choosing a cleaning service to clean your home, there are a few things you should keep in mind. First of all, make sure that the company is reputable and has a good track record. You don’t want to hire someone who is going to damage your property or leave you with a mess.
Another thing to consider is the price. Make sure that you get a quote from several different companies and compare prices before making a decision. Finally, be sure to ask the company about its policies and what they will and will not do. This can help avoid any surprises down the road.
Set Aside Some Time Each Day
Another option is to set aside some time each day to tidy up. This doesn’t have to be a lot of time, even just 15-20 minutes can make a big difference. If you can do this every day, it will help keep your home in order and prevent things from getting too cluttered.
Try to set aside a time that works for you and stick to it. For example, if you know you won’t be able to do it first thing in the morning, maybe set aside some time in the evening after your kids have gone to bed. That’s generally when I do a quick tidy of the main areas (picking up toys and stray carrots and random socks) and then turn on my robot vacuum and go to bed.
Do It Little by Little
If setting aside a chunk of time each day doesn’t work for you, another option is to do it little by little throughout the day. Every time you have a few minutes, try to tidy up something. This could be putting away dishes after dinner, doing a load of laundry, or taking out the trash. If everyone in your household does this, it can really help keep your home clean and organized.
One of my older daughters recently complained to me that her younger siblings’ room stays clean all the time because I help them clean it up. I responded, “I don’t help them clean it up. I just pick up one or two things every time I walk into the room.” Using that principle throughout the house can keep it neat—if you see something that needs to be put away when you walk into a room, take ten seconds to put it away.
Delegate Chores
If you live with other people, delegate chores! This can be a great way to get everyone involved in the cleaning and make things go faster. Make a list of tasks that need to be done and assign them to different people. Be sure to take into account everyone’s schedules and abilities when you’re making your assignments.
For example, if you have young children, you might not want to give them a task that requires them to use cleaning chemicals. There are still plenty of chores kids can do, such as dusting or washing windows.
Get Rid of Clutter
One of the best ways to make your home tidier is to get rid of clutter. If you have items that you don’t use or need, get rid of them! You can donate them, sell them, or throw them away. The less stuff you have, the easier it will be to keep your home clean. When deciding what to get rid of, ask yourself if you really need it. If you haven’t used it in the past year, chances are you don’t need it.
Use Storage Containers
Another great way to keep your home tidy is to use storage containers. This can be a great way to organize your belongings and keep them from getting lost. There are a variety of different storage containers available, so find one that works for you. You can use them to store anything from clothes to books to toys. If you find that you have a lot of stuff, invest in some storage containers. This can help you keep your things organized and out of the way.
Tidying up doesn’t have to be a huge chore. If you break it down into smaller tasks, it can be much more manageable. There are a variety of different ways to tidy up your home, so find what works for you and stick with it. With a little bit of effort, you can keep your home clean and organized.
When it comes to tidying up, the best thing you can do is just get started. The sooner you start, the sooner you’ll be finished. So what are you waiting for? Start cleaning!
