Hi! Welcome to my home in the blogosphere. My name is Bonnie Way and I currently live in Vancouver, BC, Canada with my husband and our five brown-eyed, brown-haired kids. I’m the chief booboo kisser, soother finder, activity organizer, playdate planner, chauffeur, floor sweeper, book reader, and latte maker.
This is where I write about motherhood, marriage, homeschooling, exploring Vancouver, the books I’m reading, and more. As a mom, I’ve learned how much moms needs other moms, so I hope this can be a space to connect and encourage other moms by sharing my stories of motherhood… and how I still manage to read a book a week.
I’m so glad you stopped by. Please say hi!
Why the Koala Mom?
I’m glad you asked—I get that question a lot. No, I’m not Aussie (I was born and raised Canadian).
When I started blogging, I did so anonymously. I picked the name Koala Bear Writer because I was a writer and I had a little stuffed koala who’d be everywhere with me since I was six. (Yes, I know koalas are not bears, but when I was six I was very unimaginative in naming my stuffies and so his name is Koala Bear.) Here’s a picture of Koala Bear hanging out in Australia:
I blogged for eight years as the Koala Bear Writer and then decided I’d outgrown the name. I was a mom and all my readers were moms, and so I renamed my blog. To me, the koala represents attachment parenting (I love babywearing just like a mama koala!).
Grab a Coffee; Let’s Chat!
We could talk about homeschooling or marriage or books we’re reading. You could check out my list of 50 things you may not know about me and let me know if we have anything in common. I love connecting with other moms, so I hope you’ll stay around to visit and we can get to know each other.
