Once upon a time, I was an organized person. My bed was always perfectly made, my stuffed animals were lined up on a shelf, my desk and dresser tops were bare. When I worked in various offices during university, my co-workers were always amazed at the fact that there was nothing on my desk—everything was filed away and neatly organized. Then I became a mom.
I don’t know if it’s mommy brain or the reality of cleaning up after three kids, but I’m much less organized now. My desk is piled high with whatever gets dumped on it and I routinely run out the door without something I was supposed to take with me. My diaper bag feels like a bottomless pit of snacks, diapers, dirty clothes, random toys and anything else that gets shoved into it on an errand with the kids.
Mother Load Bags to the Rescue
Zara Merbaum is a mom who understands what that’s like. She tried to use Ziploc bags to keep herself organized and then created her own line of Eco-friendly cloth bags to help moms keep track of everything. The Mother Load Collection consists of five durable cloth bags, each color-coded for its function: diapering, dirty clothes, clean clothes, toys, and snacks/bottles.
I received the Mother Load collection for this review; all opinions expressed are my own.
Why These Bags are Perfect for Moms
I really like the bags’ bright, gender-neutral colours. Each bag has a big, sturdy zipper along with a convenient strap clipped onto the corner. The embroidered logos in each corner makes it easy to know what each bag holds. When we’re heading out the door, I can fill the girls’ water bottles and throw them in the bottle bag to make sure we stay hydrated through the day. Now that Jade is getting older and I need less things in the diaper bag, it’s nice to grab the Mother Load diaper bag, which comes with a change pad, for a quick trip into town.
These are going to be very handy for road trips as well. When we went for a longer driver up-island, I used the toy bag for the girls’ LeapFrogs; I wasn’t sure all three LeapFrogs would fit in the bag, but the stretchy mesh side provided lots of room for three machines and the game cartridges. The girls were able to pass the bag back and forth to share games.

As a mom, I’ve tried various diaper bags and I’m always looking for products to help me stay organized. The Mother Load Collection delivers on both fronts, making it easier to make sure I’ve got everything I need with me. And it’s easy to get Sunshine and Lily involved in helping pack or grab the bags by just telling them to get the blue bag or the red bag for me.
I have used these for my diaper bag for 4 months now and I don’t know how I could ever go without these again…When my son has a blowout and my husband is dramatically digging through the diaper bag to find wipes, telling him to grab “the blue bag” is so much easier and saves us SO much time. ~ Madeline, a fellow more-organized mom who left a review on the Mother Load website

I love this! Our diaper bag is usually a wreck of snacks, diapers, wipes, crayons, hair bows, matchbox cars, and etc. 🙂 This would be perfect for organizing it.
Oh wow. What a great idea. I totally use ziplocks but I hate disposing them when I’m done with them. I can really use some help organizing my bag. These would be perfect as I have 3 boys, 4 and under.
Yep, I totally agree and I strive to get that organization back one day. One step at a time! I love this idea, I can see how it’d help a lot especially for travel – or even to the mall!
I stay organized by having my smartphone with me at all times and using Evernote! I also love using pouches for things, although the ones by Mother Load are way better than what I use. I’d love to win these – great colours. 🙂
I try to stay organized by placing labels on everything, my bag is a mess.
As an auntie, I don’t have to worry much about the diaper bag per se, until I’m needed to find a diaper for my nephew while my SIL’s hands are full of baby! SIL’s diaper bag needs all the help it can get, so have just txt’d the Mother Loads’ website link to her for her to check it all out, heh. 😀
This would have been awesome when my boys were little. Now as long as I have a few diapers and wipes in my purse I’m good to go.
I have to say, this particular review is of interest to me. Anything to do with organizing is the best. I do love these bags and I love that you can see through them.
This would be great for traveling on the holidays.
