Today I’m talking aboutβyesβbras on the blog. I’m so excited about Hotmilk Lingerie’s great undergarments for nursing moms. If you are breastfeeding, or have a friend who is, read on to find out more!
One of the things nobody tells you when you become a new moms is how many new clothes you need. Of course, you expect maternity clothes (although if you don’t work an office job, you can probably get away with low-rise jeans and your hubby’s T-shirts). It’s after that, when you’re adjusting to postpartum life and excited about getting back into your normal clothes, that you realize… nursing requires its own wardrobe too. At least on top.
Now, you can get away with wearing stretchy tops and jeans or skirts, as I have for years. Your normal wardrobe can be adjusted for nursing, just as it can for pregnancy, though a few pieces will probably go until baby weans. An essential part of your nursing wardrobe, however, is a nursing bra.
I’ve worn through a few of these over the past years. Most of mine are stretched out and threadbare now, because it’s hard to go shopping for bras with children in tow. And because your size changes throughout your nursing career, it can be hard to find the right fit. I’ve been meaning to shop for a new nursing bra for months okay since Pearl was born, but I wasn’t looking forward to digging through the limited, blah selection of nursing bras at my local department store.
That’s why I’m so excited about Hotmilk Lingerie. If you think nursing bra means plain and boring (like I did), well, you need to check out Hotmilk Lingerie. Yes, nursing bras can be pretty and flirty and lacy and fun! Hotmilk Lingerie is designed for moms, by moms, and it shows.
Even better is the online shopping. Now, there was a time when I wouldn’t have thought of shopping online for a bra. Since then, I’ve shopped online for a lot of other things. It’s easy. It’s comfy. Especially when I’m shopping for lingerie. As a mom with older kids, I don’t have to drag them shopping (and explain what I’m shopping for). Thinking back to those days when I was a new young mom with leaky boobs and a fussy baby… yeah, I wasn’t going to the store for a bra then either, no matter how badly I needed it.
Shopping at Hotmilk Lingerie was so easy. I looked up their sizing chart and measured myself. (Hello, new bra size, thanks to nine years of nursing babies…) Hotmilk Lingerie has bras in cup sizes from A to H, because they know moms come in all sizes (especially after baby). Then I browsed the bras by my size until I found a cute little white number. It showed up in the mail a short time later and I tried it on. Perfect fit!
Now, having a cute new bra that fits perfectly makes me really tired of my old bras. So if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got more shopping to do, now that I know my size…
If you’re looking for nursing bras, check out Hotmilk Lingerie. You can subscribe to their newsletter for a discount code. Plus check out the sale section on the website. They also have panties, nursing pads, sleepwear, and more.
I received a nursing bra from Hotmilk Lingerie for this review; all opinions expressed are my own.

I have been breastfeeding for 16 months π
I have not been breastfeeding but my daughter is due on Sunday with her first(it’s a boy) and this would be perfect for her.
I love HotMilk products and have used them for over four years. I love having something pretty on under my clothing; it makes me feel special especially when I might feel a little frumpy in the newborn days. Their bras are great, but my favorite item is their nursing sleep camisoles. I’ve literally worn mine year ’round for over four years and they’ve held up well. So comfy, just enough support for night time, and easy to nurse in.
My advice for new moms wanting to breastfeed? Don’t stress, drink lots of water, and enjoy the time with your baby. π
I’m not currently breastfeeding any babies, but a dear friend is expecting her 5th baby in 8 weeks. As she would tell anyone, eat well, drink lots of healthy liquids, and just reeeelaaax.
A friend of mine has a Hot Milk bra and she LOVES it! I always get so jealous because my bras are so ratty and old. They are also ill-fitting since my bra size has changed quite a bit. I would love to win this so that I can feel comfortable with my changing shape. It also makes it so much easier to nurse when you have a bra specifically designed for this!
My best breastfeeding tip would be to enjoy the bonding time, because you will miss it when your child has weaned!
I’m entering hoping to win because we have twin girls and their Momma loves this company!
I don’t have any tips for breastfeeding, I usually burp the babies!
I had been breastfeeding with for two years. I would love to win this for my sister who is due in March. I find that rest and keep drinking liquid will help
My oldest just turned 17 last week so I’ve been nursing on and off for 17 years. My tip is to look at nursing as a skill that has to be learned. People tend to think it should come naturally but there is a lot to learn so it takes time to perfect it.
With this baby, I have been breastfeeding for just over a year. Nursed my first daughter for 2.5 years, so we still have a ways to go for daughter #2.
I’ve been breastfeeding on and off (mostly on) for almost 9 years! My youngest is still breastfeeding (she’s 12 months) and probably will continue for another year or two.
My best tip is to relax and seek support if you need it.
I’ve been breast feeding for 6 months. My tip is to create a nice, relaxing place to pump.
I finished breastfeeding my first a few months ago. I due with my second in 2 months.
I just stopped breastfeeding 1/2 year ago and will start again soon when our next baby arrives. My tip is, have good back support and comfortable seat when breastfeeding – especially the first few week, I’ve almost fallen over when breastfeeding because I fell asleep while my energy was being drained away! And some feeds last almost an hour…..
My tip is to have a good breastfeeding pillow! It is very important!
With my first one I breastfed for almost a year and half until I got pregnant again. I’m planning on nursing #2 and this would be perfect. My tip – relax. It helps with your supply and your sanity. If you need to supplement – do it. Keep trying.
My best tip is to stick with it even if it is initially uncomfortable. I would like to win this for my daughter.
I’ve been breastfeeding for a little over a year now. My piece of advice is to get a good nursing pillow and support from a lactation dr.
I would share this with a special future breastfeeding friend. I have no tips on the subject.
That’s awesome, Aaron! Best of wishes to you and your special future breastfeeding friend. π (Feel free to check out my dating and marriage posts too. π
I have been breastfeeding 3 children for about you years and counting now. My advice to new nursing moms is to make sure you eat well!
6 months and 1 week. A lot of these fellow breastfeeding mommies have posted great advice; get help if you are stuggling, ask other busing mommies or a lactation consultant, or see if there are any local support groups, like at the hospital.
A good support pillow, a good chair that is comply and supports your posture well,
Lansinoh’s HAP Lanolin and Earth Mama Angel Baby Natural Nipple Butter were life savers for me, oh and BAMBOOBIES NURSING PADS RULE!!!!!
Oh! Stat hydrated and keep good snacks on hand! I had trail, mix and protein bars, (personally I like Zone bars and Luna bars)
The hospital have me this cool 32 oz, double walled cup that came with a straw and it made drinking while zombie nursing so much easier (plus the hubby would get up with me to refill it so I could focus on baby)
MAKE SURE THE NIPPLES ARE DRY BEFORE PUTTING THE BRA/PAD BACK ON. I didn’t and that’s how I wound up with bloody, cracked nipples the first day. Clostrum is very sticky.
Almost two years. Best advice is to get a good breastfeeding pillow – really helps support baby and mama’s arm and makes it more comfortable for both!
I’ve been breastfeeding for 5 long years, my best advice is to ask for help!
I have for about 5 years, but not straight. π My advice is cabbage leaves are your friend. I always have them on hand for feeling sore or engorged.
I think I tried that with my second… I was pretty desperate after her birth. π
One of my daughters is still nursing her almost 2 year old son and I have another daughter who is pregnant with her second baby. She couldn’t nurse last time and we are hoping that she can this time.
Awww, that’s too bad it didn’t work out for her the first time around. I hope things go better this time, but sometimes that’s just how it is. I have a couple friends who’ve been unable to breastfeed too, for various reasons. Do you have a La Leche League in your area or a breastfeeding consultant? In the end, you gotta do what’s best for both mom and baby. Support her whatever she decides! π
My friend has for about 2 weeks now.
The first two weeks are the hardest! I hope it’s going well for her. π That’s awesome you’re trying to win a new bra for her! π
I’ve been breastfeeding for 6 years and again with a new baby. I always keep a full water bottle wherever I’m nursing so I remember to keep hydrated.
