Revive Dry Hair with Vegamour’s HYDR-8 Products!

Two years ago, I did something crazy: I dyed my hair green. All my life, I’ve had natural, undyed hair that I’m not very good at styling. As a kid, I kept my hair long because my dad thought girls should have long hair, and even as an adult, I felt those expectations holding me, despite my dislike of pony tails and braids. My hair style slowly got shorter and shorter, until I found my current style, which I really like.

When my teenager began talking about dying her hair, something in me said, “YES!” It was completely frivolous and impractical and yet it was also a chance to be fully myself and to buck others’ expectations of me. So we went to the salon together and came away with colourful hair… purple for her, blue-green for me.

I got so many compliments on my green hair. We’d just moved to a new community, and I stood out as the tall woman with the bright hair. Meeting new people was easy: “I’m the one with bright green hair.” It was bold and bright and completely me, and I loved it. (My teen also thought it was great—she said it made me super easy to find in a crowd.)

While bright green hair was fun, I knew I had to take care of my hair. Bleaching and dying hair is very hard on it. While my hair grew out over the next year because of my short style, my teenager actually still has her streak of purple hair, which she re-dyes every few months. We choose our hair products carefully to make sure that we’re taking care of our hair and were very excited to try out Vegamour’s new HYDR-8 collection.

Vegamour’s HYDR-8 Collection

The HYDR-8 collection is a sweetly-scented line of hair products that’s designed specifically for dry, damaged hair. This start-to-finish collection of hydrating and strengthening hair wellness essentials includes shampoo, conditioner, repair oil, deep repair mask, and leave-in conditioner. Together, these products work to cleanse, condition, detangle and revive dry, damaged strands for unparalleled softness and shine.

My shower is the first thing I do every morning and one of my favourite parts of my daily routine. It’s a chance to take care of myself, to think about the day ahead, to relax a bit. I love having scented bath and shower products and the HYDR-8 collection is one of my favourites. The shampoo and conditioner smell lovely and make my shower more relaxing and lovely at the beginning of my day.

I use the HYDR-8 shampoo and conditioner on a daily basis. The deep moisture repair mask is great to use on a weekly basis or as my hair needs it—for example, after bleaching /dying my hair or after we’ve spent a lot of time in the swimming pool. My short hair is more forgiving about dryness but I can tell when my teenager’s long hair is looking dry and needs some attention.

The leave-in conditioner is perfect for a quick spritz when my hair is being particularly fly-away or frizzy. I don’t often use hairspray, and I find that the leave-in conditioner can help tame my hair without adding unnecessary weight or stickiness.
