My kids have been a huge fan of the Trolls movies since they first hit theatres. And, like them, I’ve loved the upbeat music and the positive themes in these movies. We caught Trolls Band Together in theatres and thoroughly enjoyed it. In fact, I think it might be the best Trolls movie yet. Trolls Band Together: overview
After two films of true friendship and relentless flirting, Poppy (Anna Kendrick) and Branch (Justin Timberlake) are now officially a couple! As they grow closer, Poppy discovers that Branch has a secret past. He was once part of her favorite boy band phenomenon, BroZone, with his four brothers: Floyd, John Dory, Spruce and Clay.
BroZone disbanded when Branch was still a baby and the brothers all went their separate ways. Branch hasn’t seen his brothers since. But when Floyd is kidnapped for his musical talents by a pair of nefarious pop-star villains, Velvet and Veneer, Branch and Poppy embark on a harrowing and emotional journey to reunite the other brothers and rescue Floyd from a fate even worse than pop-culture obscurity.
There are plenty of laugh-out-loud and feel-good moments throughout this entire movie. I really liked the message that family matters. Even though Branch hasn’t seen his brothers since he was a baby, he’s clearly missed them. Hiding past hurts also doesn’t help either Branch or Poppy; both are given the chance to turn around what happened in the past and make things right again.
