Circulon’s Non-stick Cookware makes brunch a breeze!

One of the first things my partner and I found we had in common was our love for brunch. Whether it’s first thing in the morning on a weekday or halfway to noon on a lazy weekend, we love planning breakfast meals. Sometimes, we even have breakfast for supper! As we’ve perfected our favourite brunches and tried some more, we’ve found that having the right cookware makes a big difference. A nonstick frying pan is one of the key ingredients for a good brunch.

The Circulon 12-inch Extreme Nonstick Frying Pan

We’ve been testing the Circulon 12-inch extreme nonstick frying pan in our kitchen lately, and loving it. This nonstick pan has worked perfectly for crepes and French toast, both of which tend to start sticking in any other pan we’ve cooked with. Even when my love makes his gigantic batch of crepes to feed my five “starving” children, the Circulon pan is still frying just as evenly and cleanly at the end of the stack of crepes as at the beginning, without needing extra butter or oil in the pan.

Crepes always seemed somewhat finicky and hard to make for me, so I never tried. Now, crepes are a regular on the breakfast menu around here. My partner whips up a batch of batter in the blender the night before, then fries the crepes in the morning for the kids. A good nonstick pan is necessary here and the Circulon pan fits the bill. I honestly doubted whether the grooved bottom would work with crepes, which have a very thin, delicate batter, but every crepe flipped nicely.

Crepes are part of our sneaky plan to get the kids eating more fruits and veggies. We spread yogurt across the crepes, top them with our favourite fruit, then roll them up to eat. We’ve also tried savoury crepes (leaving the sugar out of the crepe batter), frying leftover meatballs or sausages with peppers, onions, and kale or spinach and then rolling that in our crepes. This is a great breakfast for my picky eaters, who can choose what to put in their crepes once we’ve fried the pile and set out some toppings to go with it.

From Crepes to French Toast, Nonstick is Necessary

French toast is another favourite breakfast around here. It’s one of my go-tos as it’s quick and easy, but I have to say, it’s sometimes hard to get the pan the right temperature—and keep enough oil in it to keep the toast from sticking. More than once, I’ve ended up eating the “toastier” French toast slices that the kids didn’t want to have. So I gave the Circulon frying pan a go with my partner’s homemade bread dipped in eggs and cream. I got impatient and didn’t let the pan warm up enough for the first slice, but every slice after that cooked to perfection and didn’t stick. I give this frying pan a win win!

One thing my partner really likes about this frying pan is the silicone coating on the handle. Our other non-stick pans have metal handles, which can get hot or feel slippery at times. The soft grey silicone on this handle felt much more comfortable and didn’t get hot while we were making brunch. For those times when you need to lift a heavy frying pan or move it around the stove, a good handle is a huge help.

More Things to Love about Circulon Frying Pans

Circulon’s frying pans are toughness re-engineered. They offer three layers of ScratchDefense nonstick for unbeatable durability and fuss-free food release. The aluminum core delivers fast heat distribution (perfect for French toast and crepes!) and the stain-resistant nonstick exterior is easy to clean. The stainless steel base works on any stove, even induction, and offers fast and even heat (did I mention that’s really helpful when frying brunches?). Circulon’s frying pans are dishwasher and oven safe too.

While both my love and I are very careful with our cookware and have a lot of plastic spatulas and scrapers for our nonstick, we do have teenagers in the house learning to cook. It’s helpful to be able to worry less about how they’ll treat this frying pan, because it sounds like it’s teenager-proof. And since we cook a lot around here, and make a lot of dishes, it’s handy to have a frying pan that can be thrown into the oven… especially since I know that the nonstick coating means it’s not gonna have eggs that need to be scrubbed off after extra soaking.

So far, we are very happy with this new frying pan. It’s shallow enough to fry crepes and French toast easily, while also being deep enough to scramble eggs or vegetables or even make a lunch stir-fry for the two of us. If you’re looking to update your cookware, I recommend checking out Circulon’s extreme nonstick pans.
