Several years ago, the girls each made an art box. Sunshine was in preschool at the time and coming home with plenty of projects and crafts every day—which ended up either on the fridge or in her room. If she saw me sneaking it into the recycling, it was World War 3. Every project was […]
The problem with getting books for Sunshine to help me review is that she likes them so much I never see them again. Such was the case with her Princess Charity Sticker and Activity Book. We’ve been a fan of the Princess Parables since we first discovered the books at a local bookstore, so I […]
For most school kids, the end of the school year is a big, exciting event: one day in June there’s school and the next day there’s not. For homeschool kids, it’s a bit different. Different subjects tend to wrap up at different times during the year. As a kid, I usually finished most of my […]
Yesterday afternoon was Sunshine’s weekly violin lesson. I have to admit, it’s not my favourite hour of the day. I’m supposed to sit with her for her violin lessons so I can help her remember what to practice during the week. That means I need to find something to keep Lily and Jade busy for […]
Sunshine has been talking about a Frozen-themed birthday party since we threw her Tangled-themed party last year. That’s given me lots of time to collect ideas on Pinterest, so earlier this week I just sat down, scrolled through my board, and planned the party in about fifteen minutes. Here’s what we did to entertain Sunshine […]
Between moving recently and being a product review blogger, we have plenty of cardboard boxes around the house. Lately, the girls have been quite creative with our boxes. Here are three creative things kids can make with cardboard boxes… 1. The Box Car 2. The Doll House 3. The Play House Do your kids enjoy […]
Lily received this penguin a couple years ago for Christmas from my brother. At the time, she dubbed it “Owl” and for almost the next year, we had a penguin named Owl. Penguin now gets called simply Penguin and is often dressed up in various fashions… usually as a penguin princess.
We’ve heard rave reviews of Rathtrevor Beach from friends of ours for the past several years. On Friday, we finally had the chance to drive up there and visit because my sister-in-law and her girls were camping there for the week. We sat on the beach playing with the crabs, building sandcastles, and watching the […]
On our drive from Alberta back to Victoria early in June, we stopped to visit the Enchanted Forest. Sunshine happened to be wearing her Elsa costume that day, which was ironically fitting. So Elsa visited the Little Mermaid and other fairy tale friends.
Perhaps it was inevitable with three girls that they’d be in to all the “girly girl” stuff—purses, headbands and hair accessories, bracelets and necklaces, shoes, and, of course, nail polish. All the things I didn’t have as a girl with two brothers. I’m thoroughly enjoying the girliness now, and having fun watching Sunshine and Lily […]
