It’s the Ultimate Blog Party 2014!

What does April mean in the blogosphere?

It’s time to party at the Ultimate Blog Party 2014!!!

Ultimate Blog Party 2014

I had a ton of fun partying in 2012 and 2013.  Last year, I met Janice at the Connecting Bloggers and Brands Conference in Vancouver and had the chance to work with Susan as a social media trainee at 5 Minutes for Mom, so I’m super excited for the Ultimate Blog Party 2014!  Plus I’ve got giveaways this year (keep reading)!!!

I also have another reason to party this week.  I’M FINISHED MY DEGREE!!!  Thursday was my last day of classes and I just have two assignments to finish up by next Friday and then I am ready for convocation in June.  I am so excited to be finished.  It feels like it’s been a long four years.  When I started this degree, Sunshine was two and Lily was only four months old… now Sunshine is in Kindergarten, Lily is four and Jade just turned one.

What am I going to do now that I’m done school?  Keep blogging for starters.  I started blogging in 2006 as a way to encourage myself to write.  Since then, I’ve learned and grown a lot as a blogger!  Two years ago I bought my own domain name and this January I finally switched from Blogger to WordPress.  I’ve been doing a lot in the back end to update posts and make my site more searchable and shareable.  I have a ton of ideas to write about and lots of great brands I’d like to work this, so I’m excited to have more time to put into my blog.

I’m also a writer, as my blog title suggests, and just before Jade was born I started on a novel I’ve been wanting to write since Sunshine was little.  I’ve had some good feedback on it from my instructors and fellow writers here, and I would like to keep working on it this year.  I realize it’s a huge project and will probably take me a while, but I need to make sure it doesn’t end up on the back burner as it has in the past.  So my challenge to myself this summer is to keep researching and writing!

Besides blogging and writing, I’m looking forward to having more time to spend with my girls.  Being a student with three kids under six has been tough.  This year, Sunshine started Kindergarten full-time and I finally put Lily into daycare.  She enjoyed “preschool,” since she’s seen Mommy and Daddy and her older sister go to school for years, but she has also been happy to stay at home with me given any excuse.  Her last day of daycare was Monday, because I’m done classes, and I’m planning to take advantage of the free preschool programs around Victoria with her.  And plan lots of playdates around the city with our friends!

So that’s me!  Mom and reader and writer.  Feel free to take a look around my blog and leave me a comment so I can return the visit and get to know you! I also like hanging out on Twitter, Pinterest, and Facebook.

Thanks for dropping by!  Have fun at the Ultimate Blog Party 2014!

Hi Bonnie. Like you, I’m getting bloggy with it during the UBP14. I like the nice, crisp, organized design and navigability of your blog. HA…I’m a little OCD that way. However once hooked by the aesthetics, I’ll always hang around and look into the content. Hope you’re enjoying the party. I’d love for you to give me a look at Where Everyone Knows…It’s Wendy ( and let me know what you think.

Thanks for the feedback! This is a “temporary” look – I’m hoping to get a custom design done sometime soon – but lots of people like it so I’m trying to learn from that. :) You have a great site too. Thanks for dropping by!

Good for you, enjoy your party and graduation, and I’m looking forward to reading your novel about Catherine Small when it’s ready. (And thanks for including Heaven’s Prey in your giveaway!)
